General Membership Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order by President Lee Schwartz at 11:00 am; 64 members were present (quorum of 50 was met).

A motion to approve April 10, 2025, minutes was made by Mike Bell #978, seconded by Gary Konop #1688. Motion carried.

Mike Czaiko reported current club financial information.

Old Business: There was no Old Business from the floor.

New Business: Lee reviewed the following items:

Summer Update: Forklift replaced; Education computer monitors replaced; all computers now Windows 11; refrigerator donated by Wendi & Larry Boos. Tool donation from Heleen VanDenburgh, will fund club BBQ.
Mailbox Update: No mailbox sales for remainder of 2025 to limit outside sales; will resume in 2026. Member purchase for individual use is still available.
Work Order Update: Member work on repair items will be donated to club, no cash payments. Members will deal with customers directly for large fabrication projects, no club involvement.
Plasma Cutting Policy: Updated policy will be signed by plasma users to acknowledge changes. Need to be recertified to use these machines after 60 days: sign-up sheet available.
Incentive to join for new members in Oct/Nov/Dec; will get a free class to help offset dues paid in 2026.
Need suggestions from members for more club involvement; share your ideas with Lee.
Reminder for 24 club visits by 12/31/25 to retain locker for 2026.
Need Powder Coating instructor – see Lee or Wendi if interested.
Monitor Meeting will be held in October to review items.
Metal Club will have a booth at the Newcomer Open House at Palm Ridge on Oct. 22 from 4-6pm.
SCW Foundation is requesting metal art donations for upcoming raffle – donations accepted until Oct. 30th.

Our next General Meeting will be on Thursday, November 13 at 11:00am at the RH Social Hall.

A motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 11:23 am by Mike Bell #978, seconded by Rod Flack #1472 – all were in favor.
