SUN CITY WEST METAL CLUB

Club Board Meeting
November 7, 2025

Meeting called to order 10:55a.m. by President Lee Schwartz. Present: Rod Flack, Mike Czaiko, Tim ‘Sarge’ Raddatz, Pat Frantz, Larry Mann, Wendi Boos, Joe Faraone, Patti Czaiko.

Approval of Minutes: Larry made a motion, seconded by Sarge to approve the Oct. 3, 2025, minutes - all were in favor.

Treasurer’s Report: Mike stated that after much effort to remove Dawn Brown from our Quickbooks account, the club now properly owns the software package. Mike has contacted Landmark CPA to prepare our tax forms – this group also handles tax prep for the ARC Club. Mike had a good discussion with the Bell Metal Club Treasurer during our Oct. 27th visit and shared how their club handles various accounting functions. Mike reviewed membership spending statistics and provided detail about our overall financial performance to date. The group discussed how to better control expenses, ‘wants vs. needs’, and ways to track these expenses. Joe maintains a spreadsheet for club expenses that he will share with Sarge and Mike so spending requests are reviewed for priority before they are placed and expenses are properly categorized as they occur.

General Items from Lee: The Monitor meeting held on Oct. 20th was very productive; 27 people attended to review changes in procedures, new work order form, and other topics. Pizza was served to thank the monitor group.

The Newcomer Event on Oct. 22nd was a success for our club. Patti, Sarge, and Larry staffed our table and had several inquiries from people interested in joining our club.

The tour and lunch hosted at the Bell Metal Club in Sun City on Oct. 27th was very well received. Mike, Patti, Pat, Sarge, Wendi, Russ Wagner attended the event. We gained many ideas to implement at our club. A thank you card was sent to Bell Metal Club which will be shared at their General Meeting on Nov. 10th.

The Bell Metal Club assigns members who want to use the club to a 4-hour Monitor shift as a way of giving back to the club. We discussed ways for our members who utilize the club to give back as a monitor, or clean-up, or volunteering in some capacity. More discussion will follow on this topic.

The Smashburger Fall Luncheon at the club on Nov. 6th was very well received. A total of 99 members attended the lunch; Darren Tidwell loaned his grills for the event; Larry, Pat, Stan Zalewski, and Tom Blair grilled the burgers – everyone enjoyed the day.

The Holiday Sweet Treat party (spouses invited) will be held following the General Meeting on Dec. 11 at the Social Hall.

The Plasma Recertification process is going smoothly. Members who request recertification are scheduled quickly and we are caught up on the sign-up list.

Bill Matejka has volunteered to be the Powder Coating Instructor to replace Jim Filipiak. Bill has a class scheduled on Nov. 10th.

We reviewed the agenda items for the General Meeting scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 13th. No changes were made.

Roundtable:
A discussion took place to stress the importance of basic computer knowledge as a pre-requisite for those who sign up for the Plasma Cam class. If a member cannot demonstrate basic computer skills, the Computer Club is a resource for further instruction. This will be emphasized on the sign-up sheet for the Plasma Cam class. Members who do not have the skills to learn the Arclight/Phoenix can be directed to certified members for help cutting out their patterns as needed.

Motion to adjourn made by Rod, seconded by Larry. The meeting adjourned at 11:45am.
