To our summer travelers, welcome back. To all members, please remember that our next General Meeting will be Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Lecture Hall.
During the summer the Village Store has sold out the inventory of the vacation mailboxes. Vacation mailboxes will be available again by mid October.
Important upcoming events include the annual fall picnic in late October, watch for date and details. Also, the annual Fall SCW Arts and Crafts Fair will be November 6, so it is time to it is time to start selecting the treasures you would like to display/sell.
The December 9, 2010 will be the date for the election of club officers by ballot at the December General Meeting. Nominations will be held at the October and November, 2010 General Meetings.
Visitors are always welcome at the Metal Club during normal operating hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00PM weekdays. Tours and demonstrations are available for those wishing to see the excellent facilities and equipment. Over 300 pieces of metal art created by members of the club are on display. Metal art can be purchased either at the Metal Club or at the Village Store in the R. H. Johnson Rec Center. Vacation/security mailboxes can be purchased at the SCW Village Store and installation is available through the Metal Club.
Custom metal art, sheet metal, milling and lathe work, knife/ax sharpening, repairing garbage container tops and metal furniture, special welding needs, etc. are services offered to the community by members of the Metal Club. Visit the Club and let us know of your needs.
If you are a resident of S.C.W. and interested in joining the Metal Club, stop by for a visit and tour of the facility. Many members of the club had no previous experience working with metal as no experienced is necessary. A wide variety of new skills can be learned from the myriad of classes available. Annual membership dues of $20.00 provide access to equipment and instruction unavailable elsewhere. The Metal Club also offers social opportunities and events which include spouses or significant others.

The Metal Club is located in the large rose/beige building next to the S.C.W. Visitors Center/PORA at 13849 Camino del Sol. Club hours are 8 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday. Stop by for a visit. Information: (623) 584-0150
