If your are interested in building a high quality hunting, camp or general use Knife Makers Image knife, the Metal Club is the place to go. Two expert knife makers, Doc Gundersen and Elmer Parsons make a wide variety of excellent knives. Classes in knife making are available and Doc, Elmer and others offer their expertise in helping members refine the technique. Knife, scissor and ax sharpening are also services offered to the community by the Club.


The Spring Picnic for Metal Club Members, spouses/significant others and guests will be held at Beardsley Park on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at
3:00 PM featuring a Western barbecue dinner served at 4:00 PM. This is always a highlight of the Club's social activities. Tickets will be available at the Monitors Desk. Get your tickets early before the cutoff date of Thursday, March 12, 2009.


The Metal Club will be participating in the S.C.W. Chartered Club Exposition at Beardsley Park on Saturday, March 7, 2009, 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The Exposition features a pancake breakfast along with displays representing the Chartered Clubs in S.C.W.. The Exposition will enable residents and guests to better understand the vast array of opportunities available in S.C.W..


The S.C.W. Spring Arts and Crafts Fair runs from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 21, 2009. A wide variety of themes including south western, contemporary, western and wildlife art will be available. Bring your family and friends early for the best selection. If you are interested in a preview of some of the items, stop by the S.C.W. Metal Club prior to the Fair.


The March general membership meeting of the SCW Metal Club will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 19, 2009 in the R. H. Johnson Lecture Hall located next to the Village Store. General membership meetings are moving to the third Thursday of the month in 2009. All Metal Club members are encouraged to attend. Two lucky members attending the meeting will receive $25 checks.


Custom metal art, custom milling and lathe work, repairing garbage container tops, metal furniture repair, welding, etc. are services offered to the community by members of the S.C.W. Metal Club. Visit the Metal Club and let us know of your needs.


Visitors are always welcome at the Sun City West Metal Club during normal operating hours from 8:00 AM to 4 PM weekdays. Tours are available for those wishing to see the excellent facilities and equipment. Fresh coffee and pop is provided for visitors by our friendly members. Over 200 pieces of metal art created by members of the club are on display. Metal art can be purchased at the Village Store in R.H. Johnson Rec. Center or at the Metal Club. Vacation/security mailboxes are available at the Village Store.


If you are interested in joining the Metal Club, stop by for a visit and tour of the facility. Many members of the club had no previous experience working with metal as no experienced is necessary. A wide variety of new skills can be learned from the myriad of classes available. Annual membership dues of $20 provide access to equipment and instruction unavailable elsewhere. The Metal Club also offers social opportunities and events which include spouses or significant others.
